Matthew Kuglics Memorial Tournament - Cancelled

The Green Soccer Association and the City of Green, Ohio are very proud to announce the newest soccer tournament to be endorsed by OYSAN. At some of the newest and finest facilities in the state, 
it is a tournament to honor the memory of a local hero, Matthew Kuglics. Air Force Staff Sergeant Kuglics was killed in action by a roadside bomb June 5, 2007 in Kirkuk, Iraq during his seventh year of service and his second tour of duty. Matthew, a 2000 graduate of Green High School, loved soccer, played soccer in high school and continued to play in the Air Force. During his last weekend, his mother said, her son played a soccer game with some of his comrades at his base in Iraq.
WHAT? An OYSAN structured and sanctioned tournament for youth ages U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, and U14 in the "classic" and "premier" divisions.
WHEN? August 13, 14, and 15, 2010
WHERE? Based at Springhill Soccer Complex (3749 Fortuna Dr., Akron 44319) in Green. Green, Ohio is centrally located near the intersection of I-76 and I-77.
WHY? Matthew's family has set up a scholarship in his name. The proceeds of this tournament will go wholly to the scholarship, the community soccer association, and the Nothing But Nets foundation.
Please consider representing your club or organization by participating in this 1st Annual Event. Matthew Kuglics served our country and gave his life so that we all may enjoy liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We memorialize his life and his sacrifice with the Matthew Kuglics Memorial Tournament. It is with great pride and gratitude that we invite you to participate.
